We delay tasks not because we don’t care, but because the task triggers feelings we’d rather not face. Fear of failure, perfectionism, self-doubt, or even attachment to the past, all of these can become emotional barriers that disguise themselves as “I’ll do it later.” In other words, procrastination is not about discipline; it’s about discomfort. And that’s often what happens when people put off booking their headshots or portraits. It’s not really about finding the right time, losing a few pounds, or waiting for the perfect outfit. It’s about how we feel about being seen. For many professionals, standing in front of a camera brings up insecurities, about appearance, age, confidence, or even self-worth. The idea of being photographed can expose parts of ourselves we’d rather hide. But here’s the truth: once you face that discomfort, something powerful happens. You begin to see yourself differently, with kindness, confidence, and acceptance.
