Have you ever looked at a photo of yourself and felt a little disconnected, like the person in the picture doesn’t quite match how you feel inside or what you would like to look like in that image?
You’re not alone. So many of the women I work with, strong, talented, intelligent women, share with me how uncomfortable they feel being photographed. Not just because they don't know how to pose, or because the person who took the image is not a photographer specialised in portraits. But because deep down, something feels off.
They say things like:
“I don’t recognise myself.”
“I look awkward.”
“I hate the way I smile.”
“I always look better in candid photos… but not when I try.”
What’s behind these feelings isn’t vanity, it’s something much deeper.
The Real Issue Isn’t the Camera
What I’ve come to understand after years of working closely with women is that the camera only reflects what's going on inside. That’s why my approach to portrait photography is different.
The discomfort you feel in front of a lens is often rooted in self-judgement, comparison, and a lack of self-acceptance. These thoughts don’t just appear when the camera is around, they’re often part of a quiet internal dialogue you’ve carried for years.
We speak to ourselves in ways we’d never speak to a friend. We criticise our appearance, our voices, our choices. And this constant self-criticism doesn’t just affect our confidence in front of a camera, it affects how we show up in work, in relationships, and in our everyday lives.
Redefining Self-Value: A Different Kind of Workshop
This is why the workshop Own your Image | Own your Power is different. You will understand how your thoughts and beliefs shape the way you see yourself, and how you can gently shift that perception. Moreover, we are going to correct the posing mistakes that make your images less flattering, and you will learn relaxation techniques to have better body posture in front of the camera.
Together with Ritu, we’ll guide you through powerful tools that connect mindset with presence. We’ll explore how body language, self-talk, and emotional blocks show up not just in portraits, but in the way you walk through the world.
You’ll learn:
How common thought patterns affect your confidence and energy
Why certain posing habits make you look more uncomfortable (and how to fix them)
How to start developing a more compassionate, empowering relationship with your own image
But this isn’t just theory. We’ll offer practical, down-to-earth tools you can take away and apply, whether you’re being photographed, speaking in public, or just showing up more confidently in daily life.
It’s Time to Be Seen – As You Truly Are
This workshop is for you if you’ve ever felt like:
You avoid cameras because you “never look good in photos”
You feel invisible, despite all your strengths
You want to reconnect with yourself - your real self - not the one shaped by years of doubt or pressure
This is not about changing who you are. It’s about reclaiming who you are and learning how to let that version of you be seen, fully and proudly.
Because confidence isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present.
If something about this resonates with you, it’s not by accident. You’ve probably already begun your journey of self-awareness, and this might just be your next step.
The space we’re creating in this workshop is safe, supportive, and real. Nothing fake, nothing forced. Just women coming together to reconnect with their strength, softness, and self-worth.
